     V.Tweeting at the right time

   i. Set Your Objectives

Success on any social media platform requires goals that are clear and measurable. How can you track and check for success and progress, if you do not know what the target is?

You want to create SMART goals: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound. So “going viral” doesn’t count. These goals must align with the business objectives and must be an indicator of success.

  ii. Optimize your Profile

Making the perfect Twitter profile is an essential rule for strategic Twitter marketing. Your Twitter handle is your @niche, name, or your identifier on Twitter. This is important because it helps people locate and find you. The profile represents the brand identity, and this is what people associate you with on social media. It is the beginning of your marketing strategy and thus important that you are thinking about it!

Use a profile picture that represents your niche. Use a username that is simple and reflects the name of your business. The name must also help people remember your business.

Write a great bio related to your business or industry niche. Having a great bio is a key element for any Twitter profile. This is your place to communicate to new visitors of your profile exactly what it is that you do. The Twitter bio is indexed by Google. It is the first point of contact for all prospective followers.

It is also important that you include the following in the bio;

Location: include your physical location if you have one; you can also use “worldwide” or post a phone number.

Website: your homepage or a landing page where you want to drive customers.

Background image: include a Twitter background image to further display your company. Don’t leave it blank!

Pin some important tweet, Your pinned tweet is the first tweet people see when they visit your profile, so make it an interesting one that represents what's going on with your brand. You can always change your pinned tweet!

Include keywords in your bio, like #digitalmarketing, #contentmarketing, etc. So, one smartest way to go about creating your Twitter bio is to add relevant keywords and hashtags.

   iii. Create great content

“Content is where I expect much of the real money will be made on the Internet, just as it was in broadcasting.” Bill Gate

Content marketing is a deliberate effort at giving away valuable information contents in order to retain a client for possible future sales. Study the interests of your followers and provide them with the content they value.

The most important Twitter marketing lesson is that every interaction with your customer matters.

As a result, you should be ready to provide the best customer experience all the time. Any content you put across on Twitter must be informative, interesting, interactive, personal, and promotional. Creative storytelling should always be a part of your advertising strategies. People like validation and reassurance, so take the time to give them that. Let them know you are there.  Let them know that you care that they are following you, and you appreciate them.  It will only entice more followers.

Develop a content series, this will help you to create themed content every time. Examples include:

                Highlighting your customers

Sharing surprising facts about your industry

          Profiling leaders in your space

Providing quick how-to tips in your space

          Fun tweets

   e. Share engaging videos and images

Videos do better when it comes to resolving and providing directions on the internet, than written text. Video contents are taking over and ranking first on most search engines. People are three times more likely to engage with Tweets that include visual content. Videos and images are a great way to show your audience your product line or how to use an item you sell. Videos also make the content feel more personal. Images and videos in tweets help to increase your engagement. Today’s audiences are hungry for a visual experience. Include video, images, and GIFs in your Tweets. Visual content catches people’s attention when they’re scrolling through the feed. This encourages deeper engagement.

   f. Tweet at the right time

“People are getting started on their day. They’re taking the morning to get caught up on articles, scroll social media for news and get their brains ready for work. Later in the afternoon people are heads-down on projects or in meetings, and they have less time to engage.” Nick Martin, Social Engagement Specialist

Tweeting during UK and East Coast office hours drives the best results in terms of clicks and engagement, and on weekends, mornings are still best.

   g. Other tactics to use

          Engage or host Twitter chats

          Broadcast Live videos

          Offer customer Service

          Advertise on Twitter

               i. Twitter chats

This is where you engage your followers to get a topic trending. These users discuss a specific topic simultaneously with a common or shared hashtag. It is done by hosting a Twitter chat on a topic relevant to your brand or expertise. Twitter chats usually last an hour and with prepared questions and discussion points. It is a great way to build trust with followers and to show loyalty to community members. A Twitter user usually initiates these chats at a specific time. It is an excellent way to share hashtags related to your niche business or industry. This helps others to learn the latest news and trends in an industry. Twitter Chats promote interactions and engagements on your profile. This gets people talking about your brand. It also creates a more personal experience between your audience and your business. Initiating and participation in a Twitter chat shows how active your brand is on Twitter

                ii. Live Videos

Broadcasting live videos is an excellent way to announce your brand. Live-tweeting is a potential way to get a topic trending on Twitter. It is when a user tweets, his/her reactions to an event as it happens. An example is the live-tweeting of a product launch. If you organize an event and want your followers to live tweet about it, then create your own hashtag. You can then share the event with your audiences so they can spread and follow it.

                  iii. Advertise on Twitter

Promoted Tweets: This is a way to increase engagement and expand your reach to a wider group of users beyond your follower base. These ads look just like normal tweets, except that they are tagged "promoted" at the bottom, and they appear in the regular Twitter feeds of users who might not be following you yet.

Promoted Trends: A good way to get people talking about your business is through a specific hashtag. Promoted Trends appear at the top of the trending topics list in the trends box on Twitter. They, too, are clearly labeled as "promoted," but otherwise, these ads look exactly like other trending topics, and users can interact with them in the same ways. While Promoted Tweets target specific users, Promoted Trends are visible to all users during their promotion period, including on the Twitter mobile app.

   h. Drive Traffic to your website

Twitter can help you direct traffic to your website — there are a number of ways to include your website’s URL on your profile as well as add links to your web pages and blogs in your tweets. You can drive traffic to your by;

Add your website URL beneath your bio on your Twitter profile.

Incorporate links to your website in your tweets.

Retweet any content that includes direct links to your website and/ or blogs other people have shared.

Embed tweets on your website with a Twitter Timeline.

Set up Twitter Ads to drive users to a specific landing page on your site.

I. Use Twitter Polls

Twitter polls are an excellent technique to understand what your audience deems about your label, products, and services. Pin your Twitter poll on top of your feed, this way it remains noticeable for the entire duration of the survey. Do not try to persuade the results in your favor. The viewers are smart enough to catch such actions.
