- This h-pylori bacteria causes peptic ulcers . These ulcers may be acute or chronic.
- The ulcers occur in the stomach, duodenum and occasionally in the lower oesophagus and upper jejunum.
- NOTE. This bacteria multiply in high gastric acid.
- There are kind of food that favors the multiplication of the bacteria e.g Red meat, tomatoes,kales, chocolate etc
- Some drugs like NSAID, STEROIDS
- smoking, cigarettes
- Stress
- Alcohol
- CLINICAL FEATURES -: Epigastric pain,heart burn, water brush, diarrhea alternating with constipation occasionally, anorexia, nausea, vomiting and weight loss.
- MANAGEMENT:- Investigation like :- H-pylori test, barium swallow, endoscopy,acid titres, gastric content.
- Advice pnt accordingly to stop or reduce food with high acid , stop alcohol, stop smoking cigarettes, stop chewing khat, stop NSAIDs.
- Treatment with drugs:- H-pylori triple therapy eg amoxicillin+clarithromycin+ Omeprazole or Amoxicillin+metronidazole+Omeprazole, antacid eg magnesium and aluminum, bismuth and H2 receptor antagonist eg cimetidine, ranitidine.
