Age groups of 18–30

 

Daily Cleansing ~~~ Keep the cleaning agents and process simple. Use creamy products like face wash for washing your face since soaps are popularly known to dry up the skin. Wash your face in the morning to look fresh and at night to get rid of all the dirt, makeup, sunscreen etc which are clogging the pores. Creamy cleansers are good for dry skin and clear cleansers are best for oily skin. Milk is the best natural cleanser.

Exfoliation is a Must ~~~ Use a gentle scrub for your body and face as this helps to remove the dead skin cells. Exfoliating the skin once a week is necessary. Here are good exfoliating tips- Take some malai/yogurt and add some turmeric powder to it. Apply this on your face and neck area and leave it for 15 minutes. Afterward, scrub the mixture off.

Moisturizing is necessary ~~~ To keep your skin soft and supple regular moisturizing is needed. Natural moisturizers like honey, cream (malai), and several oils like extra virgin coconut oil, jojoba, almond, or olive oil can be applied once a day. Along with this one needs to use a good moisturizing cream, which is to be applied 2–3 times daily. Moisturizing should be 

 

done regularly as a habit to prevent premature aging of the skin, leaving it looking younger and fresh for a long time.

How to remove the tan ~~~ We prefer fair skin instead of the tanned. Too much exposure to the sun will leave the skin highly tanned much to our discomfort. So what can you do to remove the tan on your skin? Here is a simple tip — apply a mixture of yogurt and oatmeal on the area which is tanned. Leave it for a few minutes and wash it off. Do this regularly.

Coping with an oily skin~~~ Some have oily skin and they have to take more care of their skin. In order to reduce the oiliness, you can use a face mask of egg whites. The egg whites help to remove the oiliness without making the skin dry. Beat the egg whites in a bowl and add 1 teaspoon lemon juice to it. Apply it on the face and leave for 15 minutes. Wash it away with lukewarm water.

Say no to harsh chemicals ~~~ Your skin cannot handle the harsh chemicals which are used in bleaching, waxing, etc. Whenever you bleach or wax your skin ensure that no harsh chemicals are involved. Those with sensitive skin should, in fact, avoid usage of any chemicals. Once the skin gets damaged it is very difficult to heal it. The same goes for the hair. Coloring or highlighting the hair might seem cool but always remind you of the risks.

Age groups of 30–45

Retinol is compulsory ~~~ Using a cream containing Retinoid daily before going to bed is highly essential as soon as you enter your 30’s. These creams help build collagen in your skin. They are also known to fade away sun spots, improve skin tone and texture. Retinol can be found in many creams commonly available in the market or it could be prescribed by the doctor.

Do not expose the skin to harsh sunlight ~~~ Whenever you step into the sun you must use apply sunscreen (SPF 30–40) beforehand. Wear sunglasses to protect the eyes and apply lip balm of good SPF to protect the lips too. Harsh sun rays will damage the skin and it will get uneven pigmentation or deep tanning. If you feel any sort of irritation then apply an ice cube to the area or splash cold water.

Take care of the hair ~~~Great hair is a women’s crowning glory and healthy hair is every lady’s wish. Here are some simple things to get healthy hair. First of all massaging, the scalp is good for hair growth. Get your scalp massaged with oil once a week. Do not brush your hair when wet. Hair is brittle when wet and it tends to break easily when brushed.

Extra eye care needed ~~~ As the delicate eye area has lesser oil glands, it tends to develop wrinkles at the earliest. A good eye cream can delay the lines and it softens the existing ones. Rich emollient cream is good for dry skin; oilier skins can use serums and gels.

Live a healthier life ~~~ It’s important to start leading a healthier life. One needs to get their diet and exercise plans straight. Start eating food enriched in vitamins. Include a lot of fruits and vegetables in your diet along with milk and egg. Water and juices are needed to keep you well hydrated. Cardio-exercises are to be taken up 5–6 days a week. Get ample sleep for feeling fresh. Start taking your vitamin supplements regularly.

Nighttime care ~~~ In your early 30’s it is important to inculcate the habit of catering to some specific needs of the skin before sleeping. The skin needs to be thoroughly cleaned with a cleanser freeing it of all makeup and sunscreen. Then apply a good moisturizer along with retinoid/retinol cream, this helps nourish and refresh the skin.

 

Age groups of 45–65

Specific skin care products needed ~~~ In the early 50’s your skin starts softening and losing its elasticity. Dehydration of the skin and surfacing of more age spots and wrinkles is evident. Hence it is highly important to start using specified products. Use mild and gentle cleansers of cleaning. A peptide and antioxidant-rich moisturizer should be applied immediately after wash. Moisturizers in serum form are best absorbed by the skin at this stage.

Extra care needed ~~~ Like your entire health your skin too needs extra care in your 50’s. More protection should be taken before you move out under the sun. Sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher should be used along with UVB and UVA protection. If any changes in the skin worry you it is best to see a doctor. Get checked for skin cancer regularly. Skin rejuvenating products are good.

Lesser foundation ~~~ When the face is wrinkled you will tend to cake up the face with foundation. However, it is better to go easy on the foundation. All the excess make-up will only show all the creases and wrinkles in your face.

Moisturizing ~~~ The skin needs to be moisturized regularly especially during this period of life. A gel-based product will be beneficial; the best moisturizer is the Aloe Vera gel. If you can get natural aloe then that is the best solution to soothe the skin. Cucumber is also a good moisturizer.

Whiten those teeth ~~~ Want to maintain that charming pearly smile? Then you must whiten your teeth. Natural way to do that is to eat apples, carrots as they reduce the stains. This removes the bacteria responsible for the stains from the teeth and gum areas. Another easy solution is to visit the dentist and get your teeth cleaned.

Skin treatments ~~~ There are several skin treatments available, which help reduce wrinkles. Botox reduces wrinkles and frown lines. Laser resurfacing improves sun-damaged skin, fade away scars, and treat other facial problems. Microdermabrasion erases fine lines, rejuvenates skin and improves complexion and tone.
